Homework assignments are often submitted using an Assignment Module. A description of the assignment is available on the main page (as in the sample below), and any additional files (such as sample submissions or forms to be filled out) are available within the posted assignment.
To submit an assignment or download the additional files, open the assignment module by clicking the View/Complete Assignment: Assignment Name link (as shown at the bottom of the example below).
Once you have opened the assignment module, you can view it online or save any relevant files. When you are ready to "hand in" your completed assignment, click the Browse button, locate your assignment in the file browser, and click Open to attach it . (See the example below.) If you need to attach more than one file, click the Add Another File button and repeat the process.
To keep any currently attached files without turning the assignment in to your instructor, click the Save button. If you have any additional comments for your instructor, type or paste them into the Comments space. Unless otherwise instructed, your assignment is turned in as an attachment and should not be typed or pasted into the Comments space.
Once you have finished attaching the assignment, click the Submit button to send it to your instructor for grading..
Once an assignment has been graded, you can see your score and view any comments from your instructor by re-opening the assignment module. You'll see a message telling you the assignment has been submitted and to click OK to continue. Click the OK button to view your score and feedback, as in the sample below.
You can also access your score and feedback via the View Grades feature in the Tools section of the Welcome page. From the View Grades page, click on your score to view feedback.
Occasionally, you will be required to submit assignments via the
Digital Dropbox (available in the
Course Tools section). This tool is most often used to submit group assignments, where a number of students are graded on a single submission. The tool itself is quite similar to the Assignment module; see the
Digital Dropbox section for more information on using the Digital Dropbox.
