SUPERSTITIONS IN THE THEATER.

DON'T RUN LINES IN YOUR HEADJUST BEFORE GOING ON. THIS IS
BAD LUCK, BECAUSE YOU FORGET YOUR LINES FASTER.

Submitter comment: THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS IN A PRODUCTION AT
CRANBROOK SUMMER THEATER CAMP. I HAD A MAJOR PART, AND BEFORE
MY ENTRANCE, I WAS GOING THROUGH LINES, AND WHEN I GOT ONSTAGE,
I BLACKED OUT BECAUSE I FORGOT MY LINES.

MULTIPLYING TECHNIQUE

THERE IS A WAY OF MULTIPLYING BY NINES ON YOUR HANDS.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HOLD UP YOUR TEN FINGERS AND PICK THE NUMBER
THAT YOU WANT TO MULTIPLY NINE BY AND THEN YOU PUSH DOWN THAT FINGER.
FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU WANT TO MULTIPLY NINE BY THREE YOU WOULD PUT
DOWN YOUR THIRD FINGER.
ON ONE SIDE OF THIS THIRD FINGER YOU WOULD HAVE TWO FINGERS HELD
UP, ON THE OTHER SIDE YOU WOULD HAVE SEVEN FINGERS HELD UP,
THEREFORE YOUR ANSWER WOULD BE TWENTY-SEVEN.

"Le Vocali"

Ah, che cose strombe!

L'A con due gambe;

L'E con tre braccia;

L'O tondo in faccia.

Curioso e L'U

Che guarda in su;

Ma il piu carino

L'I col puntino.

Oh, what strange things!

The A with two legs;

The E with three arms;

The O's round face.

Different is the U that looks up;
