THE PERSON WHO IS THAT ANIMAL SAYS "BULLSHIT", THE FIRST PERSON SAYS,
"THEN WHO SHIT?" THE SECOND PERSON SAYS "I THINK IT WAS..THEN HE SAYS
ANOTHER ANIMAL'S SHIT." THE GAME CONTINUES LIKE THIS. ANY ERROR OR

IS VERY RARE AND THE PLAYERS USUALLY ALL END UP INTOXICATED.IF YOU

DRINKING GAME--CARDINAL PUFF

THE GAME IS CALLED CARDINAL PUFF AND IT IS A DRINKING GAME.
IT IS TO BE PLAYED BY THREE OR MORE
PEOPLE ONE OF WHOM KNOWS THE WAY TO PLAY THE GAME. FIRST A GLASS OF BEER IS PLACED IN FRONT OF EACH PERSON.
THEN IN SEQUENCE
EACH PERSON MUST TRY AND DO THE FOLLOWING WITHOUT A SINGLE ERROR
IF AT ANY TIME AN ERROR IS MADE HE MUST DOWN THE REST OF
HIS BEER IN ONE BIG GULP. THEN FILL IT AGAIN AND TRY AGAIN WHEN IT
IS HIS TURN AGAIN.
THE PERSON MUST FIRST PICK UP HIS GLASS WITH HIS THUMB AND
ONE FINGER AND SAY "HERE IS TO CARDINAL PUFF FOR THE FIRST TIME
THIS EVENING." TAKE ONE GULP OF HIS BEER AND SET IT DOWN
ONCE. THEN WITH ONE FINGER ON HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST
TAP THE TABLE TOP ONCE.
THEN WITH ONE FINGER ON HIS LEFT HAND HE MUST TAP THE TABLE TOP ONCE.
THEN WITH ONE FINGER ON HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST TAP THE BOTTOM OF
THE TABLE ONCE. THEN HE MUST DO THE SAME THING WITH ONE FINGER ON
HIS LEFT HAND.
THEN WITH
HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST TAP HIS RIGHT KNEE ONCE WITH HIS ONE FINGER
THE SAME THING WITH HIS LEFT FINGER AND LEFT KNEE.
THEN HE MUST TAP HIS
RIGHT FOOT ONCE ON THE FLOOR. THE SAME WITH HIS LEFT FOOT. THEN HE
MUST HUNCH HIS SHOULDERS ONCE. THEN WITH TWO FINGERS AND HIS THUMB
HE MUST PICK UP HIS GLASS AND SAY "HERE IS TO
CARDINAL PUFF PUFF FOR THE
SECOND TIME THIS EVENING." THEN HE MUST TAKE TWO GULPS OF HIS BEER
AND SET THE GLASS DOWN WITH TWO TAPS. THEN WITH TWO FINGERS
ON HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST TAP THE TABLE TOP TWICE. THE SAME
WITH TWO FINGERS ON HIS LEFT HAND. THEN WITH TWO FINGERS ON
HIS RIGHT HE MUST TAP THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TABLE TWICE. THE SAME
WITH HIS LEFT HAND. THEN WITH TWO FINGERS ON HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST
TAP HIS RIGHT KNEE TWICE. THE SAME WITH HIS LEFT
FINGERS AND LEFT KNEE.
HE MUST THEN TAP HIS RIGHT FOOT TWICE AND THEN HIS LEFT FOOT TWICE.
THEN HE MUST HUNCH HIS SHOULDERS TWICE. THEN WITH THREE FINGERS
AND HIS THUMB HE MUST PICK UP THE GLASS AND SAY "HERE IS TO CARDINAL
PUFF PUFF PUFF FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME THIS EVENING."
THEN TAKE THREE GULPS OF THE BEER AND FINISH IT.
THEN HE MUST SET THE GLASS DOWN WITH THREE TAPS.
THEN WITH THREE FINGERS ON HIS RIGHT HAND HE MUST TAP THE
TABLE TOP THREE TIMES. THE SAME WITH THREE LEFT FINGERS.
THEN WITH THREE RIGHT FINGERS HE MUST TAP THE UNDERSIDE OF THE
TABLE THREE TIMES. THE SAME WITH THREE LEFT FINGERS.
THEN WITH THREE RIGHT FINGERS HE MUST TAP HIS RIGHT KNEE THREE
TIMES. THE SAME WITH THREE LEFT FINGERS AND HIS LEFT KNEE.
THEN HE MUST TAP HIS RIGHT FOOT THREE TIMES ON THE FLOOR.
THE SAME THING WITH HIS LEFT FOOT. THEN HE MUST HUNCH HIS
SHOULDERS THREE TIMES
NOW HE MUST TURN HIS RIGHT HAND UPSIDEDOWN AND GRAB THE EMPTY GLASS
AND TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN, LET GO AND SAY "ONCE A CARDINAL,"
THEN TURN THE GLASS RIGHT SIDE UP AND SAY "ALWAYS A CARDINAL."

Submitter comment: SINCE IT IS A VERY EASY GAME IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE PARTICIPANTS
TO HAVE A FEW BEERS BEFORE THE GAME STARTS TO TRY AND
MAKE THEM MESS UP. THE MORE TIMES YOU MESS UP THE MORE YOU
WANT TO TRY AND BECOME A CARDINAL. SINCE EACH TIME YOU MESS
UP YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE BEER IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET VERY DRUNK.
WHICH MAKES IT VERY HARD TO COMPLETE THE GAME AND BECOME A CARDINAL

CARDINAL PUFF

HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF, NUMBER ONE, FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT
HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF PUFF NUMBER TWO, FOR THE SECOND TIME TONIGHT
HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF PUFF PUFF NUMBER THREE FOR THE THIRD AND
FINAL TIME TONIGHT.
ONCE A CARDINAL, ALWAYS A CARDINAL

Submitter comment: TO BEGIN THIS GAME YOU MUST BE SEATED IN FRONT OF A TABLE
THE PLAYER MUST HAVE A FULL GLASS OF EITHER BEER OR SOME ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE IN FRONT OF THEM.
TO MAKE THIS GAME VALID, TWO WITNESSES MUST BE PRESENT
WHO ARE ALREADY CARDINALS THEMSELVES.
FOR EACH LINE OF THIS GAME THERE IS AN ACTION THAT MUST BE PERFORMED.
EVERYTHING IS DONE ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER YOU ARE ON.
AFTER THE PLAYER HAS SAID, "HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF, NUMBER
ONE, FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT,
BEGINNING WITH HIS LEFT INDEX FINGER,
HE MUST HIT THE SURFACE OF THE TABLE,
THEN WITH HIS RIGHT INDEX FINGER HE DOES THE SAME.
THE ACTION IS THEN REPEATED, ALWAYS BEGINNING WITH THE LEFT,
THIS TIME HITTING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TABLE.
THE PLAYER THEN STOMPS THE FLOOR WITH HIS LEFT FOOT ONCE
AND THEN WITH HIS RIGHT FOOT ONCE.
THE PLAYER THEN STANDS UP FROM HIS SEAT ONCE AND SITS DOWN.
NEXT THE PLAYER MUST LIFT HIS GLASS WITH HIS LEFT
INDEX FINGER AND THUMB AND HIT THE TABLE SURFACE ONCE
WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS.
THEN, HOLDING THE GLASS IN THE SAME MANNER HE
MUST TAKE ONE SWIG FROM HIS DRINK.
THE NEXT LINE OF THE GAME IS THEN SAID,
HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF PUFF, NUMBER TWO,
FOR THE SECOND TIME TONIGHT,
THE ENTIRE PROCESS IS THEN REPEATED WITH THE
FINGERS, FEET, AND GLASS.
EVERYTHING MUST BE DONE IN TWO'S
STRIKING THE TABLE TWICE, THIS TIME WITH THE FIRST TWO FINGERS,
AND THEN DOING THE SAME WITH THE OTHER HAND.
THIS IS FOLLOWED BY STOMPING THE FLOOR TWICE WITH EACH FOOT AND
THEN STANDING AND SITTING TWICE.
HE THEN LIFTS HIS GLASS WITH THE FIRST TWO FINGERS AND
HITS THE TABLE TWICE, FOLLOWED BY TWO SWIGS FROM THE DRINK.
THE THIRD LINE OF THE GAME IS THEN SAID,
HERE'S TO CARDINAL PUFF PUFF PUFF, NUMBER THREE
FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME TONIGHT.
ONCE AGAIN THE PROCESS IS REPEATED WITH THE FINGER, FEET, AND GLASS.
THIS TIME EVERYTHING MUST BE DONE IN THREE'S.
WHEN YOU GET TO THE THIRD STEP AND LIFT THE GLASS TO DRINK
THREE SWIGS MUST BE TAKEN AND THE LAST ONE MUST FINISH THE DRINK.
THE GLASS IS THEN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN WITH YOUR LEFT HAND COVERING IT
AND THE PLAYER SAYS, "ONCE A CARDINAL ALWAYS A CARDINAL."
THE TWO WITNESSES ARE THERE TO WATCH AND LISTEN FOR MISTAKES.
ANY MISTAKE MEANS THE PLAYER MUST GUZZLE THE REST OF HIS DRINK.
REFILL IT AND BEGIN AGAIN.
THE PLAYER IS NOT ALLOWED TO BEGIN WHERE HE LEFT OFF.
IF THE PLAYER FINISHES WITH NO MISTAKES, HE IS CONSIDERED
A CARDINAL FOR LIFE.
THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD
OF ABOUT THIS GAME.
WHENEVER I HAVE PLAYED THIS GAME IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT
TO HAVE THE WITNESSES THERE AND TO MAKE SURE THE PLAYERS BEGIN AGAIN
WHENEVER A MISTAKE IS MADE.

EASTER MONDAY IN LIBERIA

EASTER MONDAY IS CELEBRATED AS A HOLIDAY IN MONROVIA. SCHOOLS
ARE CLOSED AND MANY GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE BUILDINGS ARE ALSO CLOSED
EASTER MONDAY USUALLY FALLS ON THE SAME MONDAY AS THAT OF THE
UNITED STATES AND OTHER CHRISTIAN NATIONS AROUND
THE WORLD. THE ONLY BIG DIFFERENCE IS THE TIME. THERE IS A FIVE
HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEW YORK AND MONROVIA. THEREFORE,
WHEN EASTER CELEBRATION IS BEING HELD IN MONROVIA, PEOPLE ARE
ASLEEP HERE. AFTER FIVE HOURS OF CELEBRATIONS IN MONROVIA
PEOPLE ARE GETTING OUT OF BED HERE IN THE UNITED STATES. THE
CHRISTIANS IN MONROVIA CELEBRATE EASTER MONDAY BECAUSE THEY
BELIEVE THAT IT WAS AFTER THE SUNDAY THAT JESUS CHRIST THE LORD
ROSE FROM THE DEAD. THE SCHOOLS ARE THE MOST ATTRACTIVE PLACE
OF CELEBRATION. ON EASTER MONDAY, STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WITNESS
A GAME BETWEEN RIVAL SCHOOLMATES. THE RIVAL SCHOOLMATES CONSISTS
OF MALES AND FEMALES. THE GAME TO BE WITNESSED IS CALLED THE
TUG-OF-WAR. THERE ARE THREE PLAYERS ON THE FEMALE TEAM AND
THE NUMBER IS UNEVEN BECAUSE MEN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PHYSICALLY
STRONGER THAN WOMEN. THIS DOES NOT ALWAYS HOLD TRUE FOR THE MEN AS
THE WOMEN USUALLY WIN THE GAME. THE WOMEN USUALLY GO THROUGH
DIFFERENT FORMS OF EXERCISES SUCH AS KARATE, WRESTLING, JOGGING
AND MUSCLE PULLING FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS DAILY PRIOR TO THE GAME.
THESE EXERCISES AID THE FEMALES IN THEIR STRUGGLE TO PROVE TO
THE MEN THAT IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE THAT MEN ARE SUPERIOR
TO THE WOMEN; WHAT IS DEFINITELY CERTAIN IS THAT TRADITIONALLY,
IN THE SIGHT OF GOD ALL IS EQUAL. THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE THE FEMALES
USUALLY WORK HARD TO PROVE THIS POINT. THE FEMALE CONTESTANTS
ARE VERY LARGE WOMEN ALSO. ABOUT SIX FEET TALL. A WOMAN OF PETITE
BUILD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE. THE SIZE AND HEIGHT
ARE PRESENTED TO THE SPECTATORS TO SHOW THAT WOMEN SHOULD
NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED. WHENEVER THE MALES LOSE THE GAME IT
IS AND CAUSES LOT OF HUMILIATIONS FOR THEM UNTIL THE FOLLOWING
YEAR. ON THE FOLLOWING YEAR, ABOUT TWO DAYS BEFORE GOOD FRIDAY,
A REMATCH IS SCHEDULED. AT THIS TIME INSTEAD OF THE GAME
THEY THEN GET INVOLVED INTO A SPELLING CONTEST. THE WINNER OF
THE CONTEST IS THEN AWARDED WITH A CHECK OF 50 DOLLARS FROM
HIS SCHOOL AND THE FEMALE'S SCHOOL. THE MALES ARE ALSO
INTRODUCED TO A CRASH COURSE CALLED LEARNING AWARENESS.
THE CRASH COURSE IS SIMPLY AN EDUCATIONAL COURSE TO PROVE TO
THE MALE STUDENTS THAT MEN ARE NOT SUPERIOR TO FEMALES
INTELLECTUALLY. THE SUBJECT OF EASTER MONDAY FITS WELL INTO
THE REALM OF FOLKLORE, ESPECIALLY FROM THE STANDPOINT OF
CUSTOM. IT ALSO FITS WELL BECAUSE IT IS STILL PRACTICED TODAY
AND MANY MEN STILL FEEL THAT THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO WOMEN BY
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES AND INTELLIGENCE.

Submitter comment: THE SPELLING CONTEST IS USUALLY HELD TWO DAYS PRIOR TO GOOD FRIDAY.

DRINKING GAME "BUZZ"

FIVE TO TEN PEOPLE ARE ARRANGED IN A CIRCLE WITH DRINKS

WHEN A SEVEN OR A MULTIPLE OF SEVEN IS REACHED, THE
PERSON IS TO SAY "BUZZ." IF HE DOESN'T SAY "BUZZ", HE
MUST DRINK AND THE GAME GOES BACK TO THE NUMBER ONE.

Submitter comment: AS THE GAME PROGRESSES, THE GAME BECOMES MORE HILARIOUS.
THE PEOPLE PARTICIPATING TEND TO DRINK MORE AS THE
GAME PROGRESSES. THE PEOPLE PLAYING THE GAME USUALLY
MISS SEVENS OR MULTIPLE OF SEVENS AS THEY DRINK MORE.
WHEN THE GAME IS OVER, THE PEOPLE THAT WERE PLAYING
ARE DRUNK.

DRINKING GAME "ZOOM-SWARTZ-PAFIGLIANO"

PEOPLE ARE ARRANGED IN A CIRCLE WITH DRINKS IN HAND.
ONE PERSON STARTS OFF BY SAYING ZOOM, SWARTZ, OR
PAFIGLIANO. HE MUST LOOK DIRECTLY AT ANOTHER PERSON
WHILE SAYING THIS. THE PERSON WHO HAS BEEN SPOKEN
TO MUST DELIVER A PHRASE TO ANOTHER PERSON. IF HE
DOESN'T RESPOND IN A MATTER OF A FEW SECONDS, HE MUST
DRINK. IF A PERSON SAYS PAFIGLIANO, THE PERSON WHO HAS
SPOKEN BEFORE HIM MUST RESPOND, REGARDLESS OF WHO THE
RESPONSE IS BEING DIRECTED TO. EXAMPLE: PERSON A SAYS
ZOOM TO PERSON B, PERSON B SAYS PAFIGLIANO TO PERSON C.
IN THIS SITUATION, PERSON A MUST RESPOND OR ELSE
HE IS FORCED TO DRINK. OTHERS RULES THAT APPLY ARE AS
FOLLOWS: NO POINTING IS ALLOWED, NO SCANNING OF THE
EYES IS ALLOWED, AND ZOOM CAN'T BE SAID TWICE.
VIOLATIONS OF THESE RULES RESULT IN A DRINK BEING
TAKEN BY THE OFFENDER.

Submitter comment: THIS IS A FAST-PACED GAME. AGAIN, AS THE EVENING PRO-
GRESSES, THE GAME BECOMES QUITE A CHALLENGE BECAUSE OF
THE CONDITION OF THE PLAYERS. IT IS ENJOYABLE AND
FUN TO WATCH, IN ADDITION TO BEING A CHALLENGE TO PLAY.
THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN THIS GAME IS TO BE QUICK AND

Thumper

This is a drinking game that my sister taught me.
In order to play there must be at least 7 people,
actually the more the better. Another requirement
is that all the people must have at least a good
"buzz." This makes the game all the better.
Everyone should sit around a table with a glass of
whatever they are drinking. Now comes the fun part.
The rules of the game are not very difficult under
normal conditions. One person is chosen to be the
leader. Everyone playing has a certain sign or
symbol. These signs are usually a hand gesture or
a combination of hand gestures. The players then
go around the table to review the signs before the
game starts just to make sure they understand them.
The leader then calls the start of the game, does
their ( his or her) sign first, then another player's
sign. This other player does their sign first,
then another person's. This goes on like this in
any order until a person forgets their sign, does
a wrong sign, or signs in the wrong order. As the game
progresses the pace gradually gets to a point where
it is very fast. This all sounds easy but it can become
very confusing. I'll give an example of how it's
played with the exception of some words since they
are not appropriate. All of this is said at the top
of your lungs.
Leader: What's the name of the game?
All: Thumper!
Leader: How do you play?
All: Dirty!
Leader: How dirty?
All: #!?%'n Dirty!
Leader: (their sign ... then a player's sign)
Player: (their sign ... then a player's sign)
This goes on until someone makes a mistake then that
player must take a drink. A last note is that a player
can also pass back to the leader. This is actually
quite a fun game to watch to see everyone make fools
out of themselves.
