GAME RHYME

PLAYED WITH THE OPEN HAND OF A YOUNG CHILD. STARTING
ON THE SMALLEST FINGER, YOU TOUCH THE TIP OF EACH
FINGER AND WHILE DOING SO SAY "TIPPSY." AT THE
INDEX FINGER, YOU RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE FINGER
AND UP THE SIDE OF THE THUMB TO ITS TIP WHILE SAYING,
"WHOOPS TIPPSY!"

THE NAME OF A CHILDHOOD GAME IS "ROCK, SCISSORS,
PAPER." IT IS PLAYED BY TWO PEOPLE. EACH HELD ONE
HAND BEHIND HIS BACK AND ON THE COUNT OF "THREE"
BROUGHT IT FORWARD IN ONE OF THREE POSITIONS: TIGHTLY
CLENCHED TO INDICATE A ROCK, FLAT TO INDICATE A PIECE
OF PAPER, OR WITH THE FIRST TWO FINGERS IN A "V"
SHAPE TO INDICATE A PAIR OF SCISSORS. A SHORT
FORMULA, "PAPER COVERS ROCK, ROCK CRUSHES SCISSORS,
SCISSORS CUTS PAPER" DETERMINED WHO WON. TWO SIMILAR
POSITIONS WERE CONSIDERED AS A DRAW. WE USED TO DO IT
JUST FOR FUN OR ONCE IN A WHILE TO DETERMINE WHO GOT
SOME SPECIAL PRIVILEGE.

Submitter comment: I DON'T REMEMBER MY FIRST CONTACT WITH THIS GAME.

CONCENTRATION

EVERYONE GETS A NUMBER. YOU THEN BEGIN TO CLAP.
FIRST SLAP YOUR THIGHS, THEN CLAP, THEN SNAP YOUR
RIGHT FINGERS, THEN YOUR LEFT. YOU SAY "CONCENTRA-
TION, KEEP IN RHYTHM, READY, LET'S GO, LET'S GO,
LET'S GO." THE FIRST PERSON SAYS THEIR NUMBER ON THE
FIRST FINGER SNAP AND SOMEONE ELSE'S NUMBER ON THE
SECOND SNAP. THAT PERSON MUST RESPOND WITH THEIR
NUMBER AND SOMEONE ELSE'S IN RHYTHM. IF YOU MISS,
YOU'RE OUT. THE LAST ONE TO MISS WINS.

WHENEVER A BASEBALL PLAYER GOES ON OR OFF THE FIELD, HE
MAKES SURE HE TOUCHES EITHER THE 1ST OR 3RD BASE

IF THE DUGOUT IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FIELD,
HE TOUCHES THE 3RD BASE FOUL LINE. IT IS VERY BAD

It: "What you got there?" Player: "Piece of cheese." "Where's my share?" "Cat got it." "Where's the cat?" "In the woods." "Where're the woods?" "Fire burned it." "Where's the fire?"
