APPLES WOULD BE EATEN WHENEVER ONE'S THROAT WAS SORE, TO CURE IT.

BLESSING OF THE THROAT

A YOUNG CHILD CAME UP TO ST. BLAZE WITH A FISH BONE IN HIS THROAT.
SO ST. BLAZE PRAUED OVER HIM AND THE BONE WENT AWAY. HE BLESSED
THROATS ON HIS FEAST DAY. SOON IT BECAME A FEAST THROUGHOUT THE
CHURCH.
