SUPERSTITION

WHEN YOU PICK WILD MUSHROOMS YOU CAN TELL IF THEY'RE GOOD BY
COOKING THEM WITH AN ONION. IF THE ONION TURNS BLACK THE MUSHROOMS
ARE NO GOOD.

Submitter comment: THIS SUPERSTITION IS NOT TRUE BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT REALLY TELL IF
THE MUSHROOMS ARE GOOD JUST BY COOKING THEM WITH AN ONION.
MUSHROOMS WERE COOKED BY THE POLISH WOMEN IN THE DETROIT
COMMUNITY IN WHICH THE INFORMANT WAS BROUGHT UP SO THAT IS WHY
THIS SUPERSTITION WAS THOUGHT TO BE A BELIEF.
