IN THE UNITED STATES IT IS CUSTOMARY TO CLAP AND WHISTLE TO SHOW
APPROVAL AND TO "BOO" TO SHOW DISAPPROVAL. BUT WATCHING THE
OLYMPICS, I NOTICED THAT SOME COUNTRIES WHISTLE TO EXPRESS
DISFAVOR. (I SAW THIS IN THE HOCKEY GAMES.)

In the United States, it is customary to clap and whistle to show approval and to "boo" to show disapproval. But watching the Olympics, I noticed that some countries whistle to express disfavor.
