CUSTOM OF PUTTING FRUIT AROUND TOMBSTONES IN THE CEMETERIES.
THE JAPANESE DID THIS BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT THE SPIRITS OF THE
DECEASED COME OUT AT NIGHT AND EAT THE FRUIT.
