A PERSON SPRINKLES SALT ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF AN
EXPECTANT MOTHER WHEN SHE IS NOT LOOKING. IF SHE
HAPPENS TO SCRATCH HER HEAD ON THE RIGHT SIDE, IT
WILL SURELY BE A GIRL. IF SHE SCRATCHES HER HEAD ON
THE LEFT SIDE, IT WILL BE A BOY.

Submitter comment: INFORMANT SAID THAT HER FATHER-IN-LAW TRIED THIS ON
HER AND HAPPENED TO SCRATCH THE LEFT SIDE OF HER
HEAD, MEANING SHE WOULD HAVE A BOY. BUT SIX MONTHS
LATER SHE GAVE BIRTH TO A GIRL. (APRIL, 1957).
