THREE FOOT AMELA SOUNDS LIKE A THREE FOOTED HORSE. IF YOU HEAR THE

WHEN I WAS LITTLE THERE WAS A RUMOUR GOING AROUND ON A OUR BLOCK THAT THE JERSEY DEVIL WAS BACK. THE JERSEY DEVIL WAS WEELL KNOWN
IN NEW JERSEY. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE A MAN WITH THE FACE OF
A WOLF, FEET OF A PIG AND HORNS. HE STOOD ON TWO LEGS. HE WAS
SUPPOSED TO PREY ON LITTLE CHILDREN, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT THE
OLDER KIDS TOLD US. VERY ELABORATE MEANS WERE USED TO SCARE THE
LITTLE KIDS OUT OF THEIR WITS. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DRESSED IN
RED CAPES AND HORNS AND RAN THROUGH THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND
SOMEONE EVEN MADE A COPY OF A PICTURE OF THE BEAST, WHICH WAS
SUPPOSED TO BE AUTHENTIC. NEEDLESS TO SAY I EVENTUALLY GREW OUT OF
MY FRIGHT OF THE JERSEY DEVIL BUT RECENTLY I HEARD SOMEONE ON TELEVIS
TALKING ABOUT THE JERSEY DEVIL. EVIDENTLY HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A
TYPE OF BIGFOOT CREATURE. IT MAKES ME WONDER ABOUT ALL THE
THAT THERE REALLY WAS SOMETHING TO BE SCARED OF.

IF YOU TAKE AN EGG LAID ON GOOD FRIDAY AND YOU PUT IT UNDER YOUR
ARM UNTIL SUNDAY, A SEVEN HEADED MONSTER WILL COME OUT. HE SHOULD
CALL YOU "MASTER". IF NOT, YOU START SMASHING HIS HEADS UNTIL HE
CALLS YOU MASTER. THEN YOU CAN ASK HIM WHATEVER YOU WANT. TO GET
RID OF HIM, YOU THROW HIM IN THE SEA WITHOUT LOOKING.

In south central Michigan it was believed that Paul Bunyanesque
creatures have inhabited the area and shaped the gently rolling
hills, small ponds, and numerous lakes. These unnamed creatures
still roamed the country side at times causing mud slides, sink
holes, and other natural phenomena.

Grandpa had a frightful creature that lived in the swamps and
often sat on the rail fence at the entrance to the small swamps
waiting to catch unsuspecting kids who disobeyed the rules and
wandered there. He was a katty-hue-gag and looked somewhat like the
Jaberwock.
