SNEEZING WITH FOOD IN YOUR MOUTH A SIGN OF BAD LUCK. IF THIS
HAPPENED QUICKLY TAKE FOOD OUT OF YOUR MOUTH AND THROW IT AWAY.

Submitter comment: THIS SUPERSTITION OF FOOD WAS PASSED DOWN FROM MY GRANDMOTHER'S
FAMILY. THE REASON THIS CAME ABOUT WAS BECAUSE THERE WERE TWO DEATHS
IN THE FAMILY WHICH COULD NOT BE EXPLAINED. I MYSELF DO
NOT BELIEVE IN IT.

SUPERSTITION

ACCIDENTLY SWEEP SOMEONE'S FOOT WITH THE BROOM--BAD LUCK.
THIS CAN BE CONVERTED BY SPITTING ON THE BROOM.

Submitter comment: THE INFORMANT STATES THAT THE BROOM IS ASSOCIATED WITH
THE ACCESSORIES OF A WITCH, WHO IS SOMEONE EVIL. THEREFORE,
SWEEPING SOMEONE'S FOOT WITH THE BROOM IS THE SAME AS
TRANSFERRING EVIL SPIRITS TO THE PERSON. SPITTING IS
USED TO RID THE BODY OF THE EVIL SPIRITS.

SUPERSTITION

I HAVE A T-SHIRT THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY SOME FRIEND I
WORK WITH. BUT EVERYTIME I'VE WORN THAT SHIRT UNDER MY
HOCKEY EQUIPMENT, I'VE HAD TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY WARD
AT THE HOSPITAL. FIRST I GOT A CUT UNDER THE CHIN AND
FIVE STITCHES WERE NEEDED TO STOP THE BLEEDING. TWO
WEEKS LATER (ON 04121979) I GOT A STICK ACROSS THE NOSE.
THIS TIME NO STICHES WERE NEEDED, BUT I SPENT THREE
HOURS IN THE HOSPITAL BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GO HOME AT 2:30 AM.
I HAVE DECIDED TO RETURN THE SHIRT, AND IF HE DOESN'T WANT
IT, IT WILL BE BURNED.

WHEN YOU ARE READING YOUR CARDS INTO THE COMPUTER YOU SHOULD RUB THE
