NIGGER DIE

THE NAME OF THIS COMMUNITY, NIGGER DIE, ACCORDING
TO THE TRADITION, RECEIVED ITS NAME FROM AN EVENT
THAT OCCURRED THERE MANY YEARS AGO. (INCIDENTALLY,
THE REAL NAME OF THE COMMUNITY IS MOUNT ZION, BUT
MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY CALL IT THIS OTHER NAME.)
IT IS SAID THAT A NEGRO MAN WAS CAUGHT IN A SNOW
STORM, AND IN (AN) EFFORT TO ESCAPE THE STORM HE
CRAWLED INTO A HOLLOW TREE STUMP. A DAY OR TWO
LATER, HE WAS FOUND THERE, FROZEN TO DEATH, HENCE
ITS NAME.
