CHIQUITA BANANA

IM A CHIQUITA BANANA
AND IM HERE TO STAY
IF YOU WANT TO KILL YOUR TEACHER
I HAVE FOUND THE WAY.
EAT A BANANA.
PUT THE PEEL ON THE FLOOR
AND WATCH YOUR TEACHER FLY OUT THE DOOR.
(THIS IS SUNG TO THE TUNE OF THE CHIQUITA BANANA AD ON TV)

Submitter comment: VIOLENCE AGAINST TEACHERS IS ALWAYS A POPULAR SUBJECT FOR GRADE
SCHOOL SONG PARODIES. IT IS ALSO COMMON FOR CHILDREN TO MAKE UP
PARODIES OF THE ADS ON TV SINCE THEY SEE THEM SO OFTEN.

RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED COWBOY

RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED COWBOY
HAD A VERY SHINY GUN
AND IF YOU EVER SAW IT
YOU WOULD TURN AROUND AND RUN.
THEN ONE FOGGY CHRISTMAS EVENING
THE SHERIFF CAME TO SAY,
"RUDOLPH WITH YOUR GUN SO BRIGHT,
WON'T YOU SHOOT MY WIFE TONIGHT?
THEN ALL THE OTHER COWBOYS
LAUGHED AND SHOUTED OUT WITH GLEE
"RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED COWBOY
YOU'LL GO DOWN IN HISTORY!

Submitter comment: THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW CHILDREN LOVE TO INCORPORATE VIOLENCE
INTO THEIR SONGS.

WE ARE BRAVE, WE ARE BOLD
FROM THE LIQUOR WE HAVE SOLD
IN THE CELLAR OF QUEEN OF HOPE SCHOOL.

I THINK I HEAR A NUN
HIDE ALL THE WHISKEY AND THE BEER.
IF A NUN SHALL APPEAR SAY,
"HERE, SISTER, HAVE A BEER!"
IN THE CELLAR OF QUEEN OF HOPE SCHOOL.
(THIS IS SUNG TO THE TUNE OF "THE CAISSONS GO ROLLING ALONG")

Submitter comment: AT THE MOMENT, THIS SEEMS TO BE THE FAVORITE SONG AROUND QUEEN OF
HOPE SCHOOL. THE KIDS STARTED SINGING IT AFTER THE SEVENTH AND
EIGHTH GRADES SPENT A WEEK AT CYO CAMP IN THE FALL OF 1973.

SUFFOCATION

SUFFOCATION, MENTAL SUFFOCATION
SUFFOCATION, THE GAME WE LOVE TO PLAY.
FIRST YOU TAKE A RUBBER BAND.
THEN YOU TAKE A PLASTIC BAG.
PUT IT ON YOUR HEAD.
CHOKE YOURSELF TILL YOU'RE DEAD.
AIN'T IT FUN?
DO IT AGAIN.
OH--SUFFOCATION...(REPEAT SONG)
SUFFOCATION, GREAT AT SUFFOCATION
SUFFOCATION, THE GAME WE LOVE TO PLAY.
FIRST YOU TAKE A PLASTIC BAG.
THEN YOU PUT IT ON YOUR HEAD.
PULL THE STRING.
THEN YOU'RE DEAD.
OH!--SUFFOCATION, GREAT AT SUFFOCATION.
SUFFOCATION THE GAME WE LOVE TO PLAY.

Submitter comment: I LEARNED THE FIRST VERSION OF THIS SONG WHEN I WAS IN THE FOURTH
GRADE. IT WAS OUR FAVORITE CLASS SONG. WE USED TO SING IT ALL
THE TIME ON THE LUNCH HOUR. SOME OF THE MORE DARING KIDS EVEN
SANG IT DURING MUSIC CLASS. THE SECOND VERSION IS ONLY SLIGHTLY
DIFFERENT. IT IS THE ONE THAT MY SEVENTH GRADE SISTER CLAIRE LEARNED
WHEN SHE WAS IN ABOUT THE FOURTH GRADE.

IN THE SHADE OF MY OLD MODEL T.

IN THE SHADE OF MY OLD MODEL T,
WHERE BETSY FIRST SHOWED IT TO ME.
IT WAS LONG AND WAS BLACK;
SHE CALLED IT HER CRACK,
BUT IT LOOKED LIKE A MAN HOLE TO ME.
SO I WHIPPED OUT MY FORTY FOOT POLE
AND RAMMED IT DOWN BETSY'S MANHOLE.
AS I TURNED ON THE STEAM
SHE LET OUT A SCREAM
IN THE SHADE OF MY OLD MODEL T.

Submitter comment: I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG AT MY GRADE SCHOOL; (ST. MARY IN
MASSILLON, OHIO) USUALLY ONLY AROUND THE CHRISTMAS SEASON. ADULTS
DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW IT, AND WERE SOMETIMES SHOCKED UPON HEARING
IT-- NOTABLY THE SCHOOL NUNS. FOR A WHILE I FORGOT ABOUT IT, BUT THEN

OHIO,) FROM OTHERS.
