NAMES

LEBANESE NAME THEIR CHILDREN IN THE FOLLOWING WAY: THE CHILD'S
LAST NAME IS THE FATHER'S FIRST NAME, WHILE THE CHILD'S FIRST
NAME IS ARBITRARY. E.G. JOHN SMITH NAMES HIS CHILD "DAVID JOHN".
(THE "JOHN" FOR LAST NAME IS FATHER'S FIRST NAME.) DAVID JOHN
NAMES HIS CHILD "_______ DAVID." THUS, THE FATHER ACTUALLY
NAMES NO ONLY HIS SON BUT HIS GRANDSON TOO. THIS IS ALSO AN
EASY WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF FAMILY LINEAGE.
