ON THE SATURDAY BEFORE EASTER, THE FOOD TO BE EATEN ON
EASTER SUNDAY IS PREPARED. THE TRADITIONAL MEAL IS
HAM, HOME-MADE SAUSAGE, HOME-MADE BREAD AND COFFEE
CAKE, DECORATED HARD BOILED EGGS, AN EASTER LAMB
MADE OF BUTTER, AS WELL AS AN EASTER LAMB CAKE.
A BASKET WITH A PORTION OF EACH OF THESE FOODS IS
PACKED, AND TAKEN TO THE CHURCH TO BE BLESSED BY THE
PARISH PRIEST. THIS IS CALLED "SWIECONKA."
THIS IS DONE IN THE HOPE THAT A FAMILY WILL BE BLESSED
WITH A BOUNTIFUL SUPPLY OF FOOD ALL YEAR.
