(PROSE NARRATIVE: REPETITIOUS HOAX)

TALE THAT IS BEGUN EVERY OTHER SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE
CAMPFIRE. IT USUALLY STARTS OUT WITH THE CAMP
DIRECTOR LEAVING HIS CABIN AT ABOUT 1:00 A.M. TO
INVESTIGATE A STRANGE NOISE, FROM THERE IT GOES ON
TO ANYONE WHO FEELS LIKE ADDING TO IT.
EVENTUALLY ALL THE COUNSELORS GET INTO IT. IT
HELPS TIRE THE BOYS OUT SO THAT THEY WILL BE
EASIER TO GET TO SLEEP.

Camp Song, Girl Scouts

This song is used to say goodbye on
the last night of camp.
I want to linger
A little Longer
A little longer here with you.
It doesn't seem quite right
That this is our last night
That this is our last night with you.
And come September
And We'll remember
our camping days and friendship true.
And as the years go by,
I'll think of you and sigh.
This is goodnight and not goodbye.

Camp Song, Girl Scout

This song is a round.
A round is a song that is sung by two
groups at the same time.
Each group starts individually
and ends at different times.
This song is about patriotism.
America, America,
Shall I tell you how I feel.
You have given me your riches,
And I love you so.

APPLES AND BANANAS

THIS IS A SONG THAT I LEARNED IN CONFIRMATION CAMP. THERE IS ONLY
ONE VERSE, BUT IT IS CHANGED EACH TIME IT IS SUNG BY SUBSTITUTING
ONE VOWEL SOUND FOR ALL OF THE OTHERS. THE TEXT IS AS FOLLOWS:
I LIKE TO EAT,
I LIKE TO EAT,
I LIKE TO EAT,
APPLES AND BANANAS.
THE NEXT TIME IT IS SUNG A LONG "A" SOUND REPLACES ALL OF THE VOWELS.
IT SOUNDS AS FOLLOWS:
A LAKE TA ATE,
A LAKE TA ATE,
A LAKE TA ATE,
APPLES AND BANANAS.
AND SO ON TO:
E LEKE TE EAT,
E LEKE TE EAT,
E LEKE TE EAT,
EEPLES END BENENES. MM
I LIKE TO ITE,
I LIKE TO ITE,
I LIKE TO ITE,
IPPLES IND BININIS. MM
O LOKE TO OKE,
O LOKE TO OKE,
O LOKE TO OKE,
OPPLES AND BONONOS. MM
U LUTE TU UTE,
U LUTE TU UTE,
U LUTE TU UTE,
UPPLES UND BUNUNUS. MM
THE SONG IS USUALLY SUNG FAST, ATTEMPTING TO GO FASTER WITH EACH
VERSE. THE MUSIC ITSELF IS FAIRLY STRAIGHTFORWARD, THE VOWELS
DICTATE THE SOUNDS.

Submitter comment: IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT ALL OF THE VARIATIONS OF THE FIRST
VERSE CONTAIN ONLY LONG VOWELS. THE MEDIUM THAT I HAVE TO REPRESENT
THE SOUNDS DOES NOT SHOW THAT VERY WELL.

"TRAFFIC" (CHILDREN'S GAME WITH BICYCLES)

"WHEN WE WERE KIDS THE NEIGHBOR KIDS WOULD COME OVER TO OUR HOUSE
WITH THEIR BICYCLES TO PLAY 'TRAFFIC.' ONE PERSON WOULD BE THE
POLICEMAN WHICH WAS DETERMINED BY A RACE TO THE END OF THE DRIVE-
WAY. THERE WERE CERTAIN RULES TO THE GAME: YOU HAD TO STOP AT
ALL THE 'STOP SIGNS' AND YOU COULDN'T GO THE WRONG WAY ON THE
ONE-WAY SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAY. ALSO, YOU HAD TO USE HAND
SIGNALS TO SHOW STOPPING, TURNING, ETC. AND NO SPEEDING WAS
ALLOWED. IF YOU DISOBEYED ANY OF THESE RULES AND THE POLICEMAN
CAUGHT YOU THREE TIMES, YOU BECAME THE POLICEMAN."
