Thesis and dissertation policy

Thesis Electronic Copy: An electronic copy will be added to the library's archive collection. Students should check with the college/school policy to determine if print copies are required for the particular program. The library accepts theses only from the architecture and honors program. Any questions concerning submitting an electronic copy of an undergraduate thesis should be directed to the Instructional Design Studio personnel in the McNichols Campus Library (313 578-0580).

  • When a student is given access to upload a thesis to the archive site, there is a Digital Image Release policy provided to which the student must agree; agreement gives the University of Detroit Mercy permission to host a digital image of the thesis on the Libraries/IDS website.
  • The faculty advisor or the program director is responsible for a completed paper cover signature page for each thesis being delivered to the Director of the Instructional Design Studio.
  • Each thesis uploaded will have an appropriate entry in the Libraries/IDS online catalog.

Thesis Personal Print Copy: Each copy must include:

  • A title page
  • A completed cover sheet which will be bound with the thesis
  • Included on this cover sheet should be the name of the degree earned, full title of the thesis, name of the student receiving the degree, and the signatures of the faculty members who have reviewed and accepted the thesis
  • $20.00/copy in the form of cash or check made payable to the University of Detroit Mercy to cover binding costs; binding of each additional copy beyond the first also cost $20.00 each and all copies MUST be submitted at the same time.
