Bio:
Catherine Lachowicz Bender graduated in 1977 with a BA in psychology. In her role as executive director of Robotics International/Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Catherine managed a professional association which serves more than 11,000 individual technical members in 52 chapters and sub-chapters around the world. She received the 1985-86 award for Outstanding Service to the North American Manufacturing Research Institute. She is currently very active as a Lamaze childbirth educator and volunteer. She serves as the registrar of the Livonia Lamaze Childbirth Education Association and has fulfilled roles in the past as secretary and treasurer of the Association.
The award was presented by Sr. Maureen A. Fay, O.P., President, Mercy College of Detroit on May 12, 1990.
