May Cameron Connolly, resident of Detroit from the days of her childhood; wife of one of its outstanding leaders in civic and political life, the late judge William F. Connolly; who, as President of the League of Catholic Women during the past nine years of economic hardship, and long previously as a tireless worker in the field of Catholic charity and public social work, has generously devoted herself to bettering the condition of the underprivileged, especially by the establishment and direction of community social centers which serve the public irrespective of race, creed or color; meriting thereby the papal decoration "Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice," - is recommended for the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws, and inclusion on the list of honored alumni of the University.
