Pastor, humanitarian, leader, your congregation is all mankind seeking opportunity. With diplomacy and understanding, you have bridged the gulf of racial inequality facing your parishioners and so many in this nation. You have helped hundreds of thousands of black Americans train for jobs and you have assisted many of this country's major cities with their urban planning efforts. Where you have encountered walls, you have built doors of opportunity that will benefit all.
It is with great pleasure that I present to you this citation and medal and I hereby declare you recipient of the President's Cabinet Award.
