Citation:

Thomas V. Angott is President of Detroit Pure Milk Co., Twin Pines Farm Dairy, Wesley’s Quaker Maid, Inc. and the Michigan Beverage Company. Successful in the corporate world, he is Director and Chairman of the Board of the National Dairy Council and past President of Michigan Dairy Foods Association. Mr. Angott is also Chairman of the Board of Milk Industry Foundation, on the Board of Directors of Borman’s Inc., past president of the Michigan Dairy Council and Vice Chairman of United Dairies Industry Association.
 
Serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mercy College of Detroit is just one of the commitments Mr. Angott has made to the Catholic community of Detroit.  He also serves as Chairman of the Board of U of D High School and is member of the President’s Cabinet at University of Detroit.  He is a catholic layman with the Cardinal Club and serves as Chairman of the Manresa Retreat House.
 
As a civic leader, his involvement encompasses many worthwhile non-profit organizations including: Chairman of Michigan’s chapter of Boys’ Town of Italy, where he honored as Italian-American of the Year in 1981, Chairman of Michigan Cancer Foundation, Board of Trustees for Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, Michigan Osteopathic Foundation, and the Michigan State University Foundation. He is also a member of the Governor’s Conference on Agriculture, was named Goodfellow of the Year by the Goodfellows Old Newsboys in 1983 and is involved with the National Republican Heritage Group.
 
Born, raised and educated in Detroit, Mr. Angott attended U of D. High School and the University of Detroit where he graduated from the School of Business Administration. His commitment to the Detroit community is evident in his decision to keep the Detroit Pure Milk Co., founded by his father, a vital part of the city. He serves the Detroit area through his involvement in the Economics Club of Detroit, Southeastern Michigan Community Foundation, International Visitors Council and International Institute, the Central Business Direct Association and the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Angott also serves as Vice Chairman of the Orchestra Hall.
 
Mr. Angott spirit of involvement has been recognized by many organizations over the years including Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, National Society of Fundraising Executives, U of D High School and the International Institute.
 
A devoted family man, Thomas Angott and his wife, Nancy, have twelve children and reside in Orchard Lake.
