A staunch supporter of private education, Dick Kughn is chairman of the University of Detroit Board of Trustees. Through the years, Mr. Kughn has achieved prominence throughout the community for his successful business achievements and civic involvement. Known as an enthusiastic entrepreneur with a multitude of interests, Mr. Kughn has demonstrated his expertise through a wide range of business endeavors. In addition to being chairman and president of Kughn Enterprises, he is also chairman and CEO of Lionel Trains, Inc., president of The Whitney Restaurant, and is actively involved in several other business ventures. Mr. Kughn is active in numerous community organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan, Central Business District Association, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and the Michigan Cancer Foundation. Currently, he is a member of both Mercy College’s President’s Club and the U of D President’s Cabinet.
