Bio:
University of Detroit hired Dr. Claude Nemzek to teach in the Education Department beginning September, 1935. He served as Chairman of the Department and was promoted to full professor in 1948. While at U. of D. he also lectured in Education at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and Wayne State University Detroit. Prior to joining the university he was a Graduate Assistant in the College of Education at the University of Iowa and both taught and was a Carnegie Research Fellow in the College of Education at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Nemzek earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (1928) from State Teachers College Moorhead Minnesota, a Master of Arts in Education (1929) from the University of Iowa Iowa City, and a Ph.D. in Education (1937) from the University of Minnesota Mineapolis Minnesota.
While on the faculty, Dr. Nemzek taught Methods of Secondary School Teaching, Comparative Psychology, Introduction to Graduate Study in Education, Psychology of Education, Genetic Psychology, Vocational Guidance, Psychology of Learning, Psychology of Individual Differences, Psychology of Motivation, Introduction to Education, Directed Teaching, General Psychology, Advanced Educational Psychology, the Construction of Objective Tests, Psychology of Adolescence, Educational Tests and Measurements, and Application of Statistics to Education.
Dr. Nemzek was a prolific contributor to the literature of education and psychology. His articles were published in the Peabody Journal of Education, Journal of Education, School Review, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Educational Psychology, School Music, Journal of Educational Research, Journal of Appli8ed Psychology, League Script, Minnesota Journal of Education, School and Society, Journal of Social Psychology, Education, and Journal of Experimental Education.
He was a member of the American Psychological Association, American Management Association, American Educational Research Association, Michigan Industrial Training Council, National Catholic Education Association, National Society for the Study of Education, Michigan Psychological Association, Lamda Phi Sigma, and Phi Delta Kappa.
