Bio:
Professional hockey player who played for both the Detroit Red Wings and the Hartford Walers of the National Hockey League; played for the Houston Aeros and New England Whalers in the World Hockey Assocation. He played for four decades and became know as Mr. Hockey. He was the recipient of both the Hart Trophy as most valuable player and the Art Ross Trophy as leading scorer. He wore number 9 while playing for the Red Wings.

Award was presented on May 20, 1972 in Cobo Hall by Fr. Malcolm Carron, S.J., President of the University.
