Katharine Graham, Chairman of the Board of the Washington Post Company, is one of the nation’s most influential forces in the media. Her courage and integrity in examining political issues has raised the consciousness of the public and reaffirmed the role of the press in America’s democracy processes. A newspaper executive for many years, Mrs. Graham currently directs the activities of the Washington Post Company among which are several newspapers, Newsweek magazine and four television stations including Detroit’s WDIV, Channel 4. In addition she serves on the Board of Newspaper Adverting Bureau, the American Newspaper Publishers Association and the Associated Press.
