Mercy Medallion

1992

Citation:

A true leader and friend to the community, Jane Moeller symbolized the epitome of success, both personally and professionally. Unfortunately, she died recently following a brief illness. Her legacy, however, lives on. Moeller enjoyed a long and successful career with First Federal of Michigan, moving through the ranks to senior vice president. In her spare time, Moeller spent her life helping others; often saying her greatest reward was the positive feedback she got from working with recovering men and women. Moeller, gave generously of her time and talents to countless civic, religious, and business organizations, including Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center, WTVS channel 56, University of Detroit Mercy, United Foundation and Women’s Economic Club. In recognition of her hard work, dedication and service to the community she was named one of the Detroit’s “Top 10 Working Women” and was selected as one of the city’s “10 Most Influential Women.” For her humanitarian efforts, Moeller is a recipient of this year’s Mercy Medallion.

Award was presented postumously at the President's Cabinet Silver Anniversary Celebration, 1992.
