Charles Kassab has distinguished himself as an astute businessman, a generous and enthusiastic community supporter and a dedicated husband and father. Since graduating from the University of Detroit four decades ago, he earned a reputation of distinction as a leader in the financial community. Today, he serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Huntington Bancshares, Michigan. As a member of numerous professional, civic, cultural, educational, and religious organizations, Kassab generously gives his time and talents. In recognition, he has received awards and honors from many groups, including the Boys Scout, Macomb County Cancer Society, Warren YMCA and Michigan Bankers Association. Perhaps most significant to the University is the finical support he and his family provided for the development of the Lillie B. Kassab Mall, which is named after his mother. On a more personal level, Kassab is a warm, caring, friendly person who shows a zest and appreciation for life.
