Original from the University of Michigan, Google digitized, November 30, 2005 A lawyer, born on January 16, 1977; educated in Thomson's Private School, Detroit College and Detroit College of Law. Van Dyke practiced in the office of James H. Pound and later with George F. Monoghan, E.Y. Swift, and then alone. Van Dyke was a member of the Bar Association of Detroit and Detroit College Alumni Association for which he was president at one time. He served in the 7th and 19th U.S. Infantry in the Spanish-American War. The Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree was conferred on Mr. Van Dyke during Commencement, University of Detroit, June 21, 1916.
