Background information was gathered from The Official Catholic Directory, Anno Domini 1927. Rev Stapleton served as Pastor of Church of the Annunciation [p.304] which included a school staffed by sixteen Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and four lay teachers with 949 pupils.
