Citation:

Owen Regis McGuirk, alumnus and Bachelor of Laws of the University of Detroit; officer during the World War in the Canadian Field Artillery and recipient of the British Military Medal, who by his clearness of thought, soundness of view, and integrity of purpose has advanced rapidly in the esteem of the Legal Profession; who for the past three years has generously devoted his talents, time and energy to the defense of the university in the difficult financial and legal problem of corporate reorganization, and thereby has greatly contributed towards a solution of that problem, as a token of appreciation and gratitude, is recommended for the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, and to be listed among those who have given the university distinguished service.
