A distinguished member of the university community, you are nationally respected for your pioneering work in cooperative education. When you joined the university more than forty years ago, your progressive management techniques and outstanding administrative skills guided U of D's College of Engineering through many difficult times, to its present position as one of the nation's most respected schools. Your dedication to professional ethics in both engineering education and practice has earned the respect of all your colleagues. Recipient of numerous awards, you personally advanced the philosophy and practice of cooperative education and shaped the form of engineering education as it is today. Each U of D engineering student gains immensely from on-the-job industrial experience while pursuing high educational goals because of your strong beliefs that practical experience is a necessary part of education. The University extends its heartfelt affection and thanks to you for your long and outstanding devotion to its students and to academic excellence and awards you the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Engineering.
