TO LEAVE A BOWL ON THE FRONT PORCH DURING DINNER, ON THE FEAST OF
ST. NICHOLAS, DECEMBER 6. A LOUD KNOCK WAS HEARD, AND WHOEVER
ANSWERED THE DOOR FOUND NO ONE, BUT THE BOWL WAS FILLED WITH CANDY
AND SWEETS.
