I ALWAYS HATED TO WASH HANDKERCHIEFS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE IN MY
FAMILY. BUT IN THOSE DAYS, IT WAS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM REALLY
CLEAN. FIRST YOU HAD TO SOAK THEM ALL IN A BUCKET OF AMMONIA
AND WATER FOR A DAY. THEN PUT THEM (CAREFUL--YUCK) INTO THE WASH
BOILER AND BOIL THEM AS USUAL. WASH, AND HANG TO DRY.
Submitter comment: THANK GOD FOR WASHING MACHINES.
