IN A POLISH CHURCH ON HOLY SATURDAY, EACH PERSON
BRINGS A LARGE EASTER BASKET TO BE BLESSED. IN THE
BASKET IS KIELBASA, HAM, BUTTER IN THE SHAPE OF A
LAMB, SALT AND PAPPER, DYED EGGS WITHOUT SHELLS,
HORSERADISH, WINE, ROUND LOAF OF PUMPERNICKEL
BREAD AND AN EMPTY BOTTLE FOR HOLY WATER. THE
BASKETS ARE PLACED AT THE END OF THE AISLE AND THE
PRIEST FILLS UP BOTTLES AND BLESSES THE BASKETS.
THIS FOOD IS TO BE EATEN AT THE EASTER CELEBRATION
OF EACH FAMILY.
