AT POLISH WEDDINGS, THE SONG OF THE TWELVE ANGELS
IS SUNG. THE TWELVE ANGELS ARE THERE TO HELP TAKE
OFF THE BRIDE'S VEIL. DURING THIS PROCESS OF
UNVEILING, THE SONG GOES ON TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE
BRIDE LEAVES HER PARENTS FOREVER, FINDS HAPPINESS
FROM GOD AND BEGINS A NEW LIFE WITH HER HUSBAND.
THE VEIL IS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A SCARF TO
SYMBOLIZE THAT SHE IS NO LONGER A MAIDEN.

Where learned: MICHIGAN ; DETROIT

Subject headings: CUSTOM FESTIVAL -- Marriage Removing veil

Date learned: 11-12-1969
