IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA AT MIDNIGHT OF A WEDDING, THE
GODMOTHER OF THE BRIDE WOULD REMOVE THE VEIL FROM
THE BRIDE'S HEAD, PUT HER BRAIDED HAIR INTO A BUN
ON TOP OF HER HEAD AND COVER IT WITH A BONNET OR
"CEPEC." FROM THEN ON, THE YOUNG WOMAN WOULD ALWAYS
WEAR HER HAIR IN A BUN COVERED WITH A "CEPEC." IN THIS
WAY, EVERYONE KNEW SHE WAS MARRIED.
