APRIL FOOL IN GUADELOUPE

ON APRIL FOOL WE USED TO DRAW AND CUT FISHES FROM A SHEET OF
PAPER AND ATTACH THEM ON THE BACK OF OTHER STUDENTS OR TEACHERS.
ON THAT SAME DAY, WE TELL A LOT OF JOKES AND ALSO MANY LIES, AND
IF SOMEONE BELIEVES WHATEVER IS SAID IN THE LIE, WE TELL HIM:
"MANGE POISSON D'AVRIL A GRANDE FOURCHETTE" (YOU ATE APRIL FOUL'S
FISH WITH BIG BITES).

Submitter comment: WHEN I WAS IN ELEVENTH GRADE, WE ATTACHED A FISH IN THE HAIR OF
OUR PHYSICS TEACHER SINCE HE HAD VERY LONG HAIR; ALSO WE ATTACHED
ONE TO THE ROBE OF THE NUN WHO WAS ASSISTANT-DIRECTOR AT THAT
TIME.
