MEXICAN CHRISTMAS CUSTOMS

IN MEXICO, THE NINE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS--STARTING THE 16TH OF
DECEMBER, ARE POSATAS DAYS. THERE IS A PARTY EACH DAY, AND A
PROGRESSIVE RE-ENACTMENT OF THE NATIVITY. IT ENDS ON CHRISTMAS EVE
WHEN THE CHRIST CHILD IS PLACED IN THE MANGER, WITHIN WHICH ARE ALL
THE NATIVITY FIGURES EXCEPT THE MAGI. THEY ARE PLACED AFTER
MIDNIGHT.
