A TRADITIONAL POLISH CUSTOM USED AT CHRISTMAS TIME TO EXTEND BEST
WISHES OF THE SEASON AND A PERSONAL GREETING FOR THE NEW YEAR, IS
THE EXCHANGING OF SMALL PIECES OF WAFERS KNOWN AS "OPLATKI" WHICH
IN ENGLISH MEANS "ANGEL BREAD."

INFORMANT WAS TAUGHT THIS FROM HER PARENTS WHO WERE BORN IN POLAND.
SHE LEARNED IT WHEN SHE WAS VERY YOUNG AND STILL PRACTICES IT TODAY.
