claim to have "invented" it while they were hiding in the

BLESSING HOUSES WITH HOLY WATER
ON EPIPHANY DAY, THE DAY CHRIST WAS BAPTIZED, WATER
BLESSED IN THE CHURCH IS DISTRIBUTED TO THE FAITHFUL.
THE WATER IS TAKEN HOME AND IT IS SPRINKLED IN EVERY
ROOM IN THE HOUSE.
Submitter comment:
THE WATER THAT IS BLESSED IN THE CHURCH SYMBOLIZES
THE WATER THAT CHRIST WAS BAPTIZED. SPRINKLING IT IN
EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE BRINGS GOOD LUCK TO THOSE
THAT LIVE THERE.
THIS IS A GREEK-AMERICAN CUSTOM.

On several occasions my grandmother claims to have had drawers
of silverware spill themselves in her house after a funeral for
one of her friends or relatives. She claims that this was the
way of the deceased spirit to say that the funeral was
appreciated.

My grandmother used to read tea leaves in order to see the
future. She predicted several things with astounding accuracy.
The most astounding prediction was that of her daughter's
blond friend having some sort of medical problem in her throat.
Several months later one of the daughter's blond haired friends
was rushed to the hospital with a burst thyroid.

When I was young we used to sing this song when our parents
weren't around :
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
Mutilated monkey nuts
Chopped up birdy feet
French fried eyeballs floating in a pool of blood
Ooh I forgot my spoon.
