Little Sally Walker
This is a game that little girls play. Girls stand
in a circle, all facing each other, with one girl in the
middle who is called Little Sally Walker. They all sing
this song together and shake their hips while Sally chooses
a partner to dance with and repeat the song again and chooses
another partner until everyone is chosen. This is the end of
the game.
They sing this song:
Little Sally Walker, walking down the street.
She didn't know what to do, so she jumped in front of me.
She said "Go on Girl shake that thing, shake that thing,
STOP!
Go on girl choose your partner, choose your partner, STOP!

While traveling I used to play a game with whoever
was in the car with me. What we would do is have one
person start off with the phrase "I'm going to
California and I'm going to take a...". Then the
person would finish the phrase with a word beginning
with the first letter of the alphabet. Then the next
person would repeat what the first person said, but
also add a word beginning with the next letter of the
alphabet along with trying to remember all of the
previously listed items in order. If a person missed
an item, they lost or were counted "out" if more
than two were playing. If the whole alphabet went
without a winner, then it would begin with the letters
going backwards until there was a winner.

Arabic Hiding Game
Shaytana Gronue is a game played similar to hide and seek.
Somebody would be picked out of 10 people and that
person would be Shaytana Gronue. The chosen individual
must dress up in a costume representing the devil and
then hide anywhere. The game can be played inside or
outside. The object is for the remaining nine players
to go and seek out Shaytana Gronue. When spotted
"Shaytana Gronue" is yelled out and everybody runs to a
predetermined safety zone which Shaytana Gronue does not
know about. Players are eliminated by the poison touch
of Shaytana Gronue. The last player remaining then becomes
the new Shaytana Gronue.

day will mean that it will rain the next day. If you fly your
kite in a southern wind direction on a cloudy day the next day
will be bright and sunny. If you attempt to fly your kite on

Red Light Green Light
This was a children's game in which one chosen person would
close his/her eyes and say "Red light green light" several times
while simultaneously spinning around. While the chosen person
would spin and say this the other participants would run around in
circles around the chosen person. And when the chosen person
opened his/her eyes, whoever was still moving would be put out of
the game.
Submitter comment: This seemed to be a very fun game at the time.

Entertainment: Game
A method children use to select teams or "it" is for everyone to hold out both fists and someone counts off on each fist"one-potato, two-potato, three-potato, four. Five-potato, six-potato, seven-potato more." The first fist on which "more" lands must be put behind back. The winner (or loser) can either be the first or last person to have both fists behind his back.

Tongue Twister:
Betty Botta bought some butter. "But," she said, "this butter's bitter. If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter. But a bit o' better butter will but make my batter better." So she bought a bit o' butter, better than the bitter butter, made her bitter batter better. So 'twas better Betty Botta bought a bit o' better butter.
