MY PARENTS ALWAYS USED TO TELL ME THAT WHENEVER I LOST A
TOOTH, I SHOULD PUT IT UNDER MY PILLOW AND THE GOOD
FAIRY WOULD EXCHANGE IT FOR A QUARTER.
WHEN I TRIED THIS I WOULD FIND THE 25 CENTS UNDER MY
PILLOW IN THE MORNING. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS
MY PARENTS PUTTING THE MONEY THERE.

IF A BABY OR VERY YOUNG CHILD HABITUALLY STICKS ITS
TONGUE OUT, IT IS A SIGN THAT THE MOTHER, DURING
THE BABY'S (GESTATION), HAD A CRAVING FOR SOMETHING
SHE COULD NOT GET.

Submitter comment: THE INFORMANT CLAIMS THAT SHE LEARNED THIS FROM HER
GRANDMOTHER BECAUSE SHE, WHEN VERY SMALL ALWAYS
HAD HER TONGUE OUT. AS A MATTER OF FACT, THE
INFORMANT'S (MOTHER) DID HAVE A CRAVING FOR BREAD
AND BUTTER DURING HER PREGNANCY, BUT COULD NOT GET
ANY BECAUSE OF THE WAR.

WHEN BECOMING BLOOD SISTERS, EACH PERSON TOOK SOME SMALL
TREASURES (RINGS, PENNIES, ETC.) AND PUT THEM IN A GLASS
JAR AND BURIED THE JAR IN THE WOODS OR ON THE SIDE OF THE
ROAD, THEN MARK THE PLACE BY A PILE OF STONES OR APPLES, ETC.
WHICH IS PARTIALLY BURIED. WHEN THE PACT IS BROKEN UP ONE
OF THE TWO PEOPLE DIG IT UP AND RETURN THE TREASURES TO THE
OWNER, THUS THE SISTERHOOD IS BROKEN.

Submitter comment: THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS 11 OR 12, WHEN I
MADE A NEW FRIEND MY BLOOD SISTER BROKE THE PACT.
