W | RIDDLE
A thought provoking question which asks for a solution. For verse in riddle, see C890.
W200 | True Riddle
Presumably sufficiently precise in its description to be logically solvable: Little Ann Netticoat, with a white petticoat, and a red nose, the longer she stands, the shorter she grows A burning candle.
W400 | Riddle Question
Insufficiently precise for logical solution; can be answered only by the initiated; asker intends to give answer himself, with intention of ridiculing person asked: Where did Jesus go when He was twelve years old? Into His thirteenth year. Note: The Computerized Folklore Archive has long used this category for elephant jokes, knock knock jokes, and various puzzles.
