Truncation

Many search engines allow for truncation of keywords.  Truncation is the shortening of a search term by using a symbol so that all variants of that search term are retrieved.  For example, searching for hous* will bring up results that include house, houseful, houses, housing, etc.). Different search engines use different truncation symbols. Many use the asterisk, *, and others may use the question mark, ?, as the truncation symbol.
