FOLK SONG (FROM THE EASTERN COUNTRYSIDE)

FROM THE EASTERN COUNTRY SIDE ,
THE LITTLE SUN WAS RISING,
AND IN THE WEST,
A LITTLE CLOUD WAS TRAVELING.

I SAW A YOUNG MAIDEN
WALKING ALONG THE ROAD,
AS FAIR AS THE SUN.
THAT WAS RISING IN THE EAST.
COME HERE MY YOUNG MAIDEN,
COME HERE BY MY SIDE.
THEN BOTH OF US WILL SAY,
MANY SOFT LOVING WORDS.

Submitter comment: THIS SONG IS TRANSLATED FROM LITHUANIAN.
