IN ITALY, APPROXIMATELY 50 YEARS AGO, THE BIGGEST FEAST OF THE YEAR
WAS THE ASSUMPTION ON AUGUST 15. DURING THE DAY, EVERY HALF HOUR A
GROUP OF PEOPLE WOULD ENTER THE CHURCH AND THE PREVIOUS GROUP
WOULD LEAVE THEIR VIGIL. THERE WOULD BE BIG PROCESSIONS, PARADES
IN THE STREETS. THIS WOULD BE CONCLUDED WITH FIREWORKS AT NIGHT.
