BLESSING OF FLOWERS
WHEN THE INFORMANT WAS A GIRL, FLOWERS WERE BLESSED ON AUGUST
FIFTEENTH, THE ASSUMPTION. THE CUSTOM CAME FROM POLAND. THE
FLOWERS WERE THEN HUNG IN THE ATTIC TO DRY AND WERE BURNED ON
THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
