FOOD BELIEF
WHILE LIVING IN JAPAN, MY MOTHER OBSERVED THE JAPANESE
CUSTOM OF PUTTING FRUIT AROUND TOMBSTONES IN THE CEMETERIES.
THE JAPANESE DO THIS BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT THE SPIRIT OF THE
DECEASED COMES OUT AT NIGHT AND EATS THE FRUIT.
