TO MAINTAIN SILENCE AT THE DINNER TABLE. MY POLISH GRANDMOTHER WAS
SUCCESSFUL WITH A PHRASE I DID NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND. YEARS LATER MY
MOTHER TRANSLATED FOR ME.
