Cruel War
The cruel war is raging
The pledges have to fight
To wear down members
From morning till night.
We must wear our pledge pins
It grieves my heart so
Can't we please just forget it
No, pledges, no.
It's not just on Monday
But every other day
That members will call us
And we must obey
I'll carry their lunches
My pledge pin I'll put on
And then have them ol' coke dates
From dusk until dawn.
The many things we do
The many things we said.
If I'm not soon active
I'll surely be dead.
Soon comes my pledge test
I'll do my very best
May I come with you members
Yes, my pledge, yes.
